Welcome to Our New and Improved Website
With a fresh look and feel, our new website is designed with you in mind. This new website means that visitors can benefit from our online content that is easier to navigate and share with others.
For our members, the site provides easy access to the login page, support functions, and research databases.
The new site is hosted by Easy Net Sites (ENS) which provides a suite of web-based tools designed for genealogical, familial and historical societies. Over 125 societies nationwide have used ENS to build their websites.
Once again we would like to welcome you to our new website and invite you to explore what SGS has to offer!1

|Wet books were temporarily stored on tables in the library.
Thanks to our volunteers the damage in the SGS Library due to the November water leak was minimized. The damaged books that could not be salvaged will be replaced and the others were dried and cleaned. The books are being returned to their correct places on the shelves. We are very thankful that most of the damage was reversible.
Meanwhile, over the holiday break our volunteers installed newly donated workstations and chairs. The computer stations have more room and there are more work areas available. We are also scheduling new lighting for the computer area. Come by the library and take a look, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
As a volunteer-led, donation-driven organization we appreciate all that our members do for the Society.

Take a look at our Surname Registry
Do you want to collaborate with SGS members? Have you wondered if a member has a research area similar to your own? Visit the SGS Member Surname Registry. Here you will find a searchable list of research names added exclusively by our members.
For each entry you can view more details by selecting the "eye" icon, or you can write a message to the member by selecting the "envelope" email icon. Follow the instructions to send the message on our secure website system. (Note, you will not have access to the member's name or contact information unless they choose to reply, and we cannot guarantee that you will receive a response.)
Members, if you would like to view or edit your personal surnames list, log in and go to your Member Profile page. Then click on the "Surnames" tab.
|FamilySearch Affiliate Library
The Seattle Genealogical Society is an Affiliate Library for the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and FamilySearch.org. This means that when you are inside the SGS Library either using your own computer or our Patron Computers you will be able to access the "locked" records at FamilySearch.org. You will be prompted to sign up for a FREE account through FamilySearch.org, or to sign in to your own account and then you can access the records. The service is available during normal hours at the SGS research library.
